Fun Times at Grandma D's and Papa's House

Nothing like learning the ART of eating ice cream from Grandma, who is the ice cream pro! You name the flavor and it's in the freezer. Well almost!!

On a cold crisp day Papa couldn't resist taking Hailey for a nice long stroller ride around the block. He loves to cruise the streets and show off all his grand babies!!

Taylor became the Queen of Christmas cookie making and decorating. She had such a fun time and she did a really great job. Then we both sat and ate a pile of cookies. Great job TAY!!!

Utah Times are Always Fun Times...

Let me tell you....There's never a dull moment or even an extra moment when I go to Utah. It's always so great to see my parents, my kids and best of all the grand babies! Although, they aren't babies anymore they are growing up way too fast! Utah times really are great and fun times!

Fun Times in Portland

I'm a little slow on my blogs but better late than never. Joel, Mandy, Ella, Kayla and Taylor and Hailey all came over Labor Day weekend! We had such a great time with so many little grand daughters and Joel and Mandy. We also got to celebrate Joel's birthday which is a first for a long time. A great weekend with a great bunch of family all bunched together...

Cutie Patootie Treasures

Welcome to my New Adventure.........
Cutie Patootie Treasures http://cutietreasures.com/
As a Mom and now a Grandmother I've always enjoyed creating the little extra touches for my own girls and now my grand daughters. I've always wanted to have a small business and so I slowly started thinking about what I really enjoy doing. I thought of a lot of things and must admit the business I chose will never make me rich. Although I will enjoy creating little treasures and extra touches for your little ones and mine. When I say slowly I mean really slow. First I had to come up with a name. Since I have a bundle of "Cutie Patootie's", it only made since to name my business after them.. Then thanks to the artwork of my creative daughter, Alyssa, I have a logo and a "Cutie Patootie" picture. Another daughter Jen, helped consult and create business cards. Another daughter, Brooke, let me use her 2 daughters, my grand daughters, as models. Another daughter, Shauna, has been my consultant on what works and doesn't work from her experience. I had a lot of helpers to get me started. Next, I had to set up an online store front, advertise and I thought that would be it! I thought it would be easy but boy was I wrong. I tried and tried to set up my own web page and realized I needed to hire an expert. My online store is almost done and I must admit it's been an adventure the entire way. Keep checking back as I have only started to add items. If you have suggestions, please comment. When the rainy days in Portland begin I will add even more selections! I hope you enjoy browsing my store.

Happy Birthday Joey!!

Today my Sister would have been 59 years old, if she had lived. Most of you know that she died from ovarian cancer in 2004 after a 6 years battle. Today she would have celebrated her life, just like she did every single day. She lived a life of service to others, love towards her family, enthusiasm for each new challenge, always daring to try something new and exciting(usually something I would think up), she was so positive and optimistic about challenges in her life and was a great inspiration to all who knew her. I love her for who she was and who she is still to me. During my hardest years she was there giving me the strength and support to move forward with faith and carry on my mission on earth. She would never miss a chance to tell me that I had the potential to do anything I put my mind too! She lived her life that exact same way. She beat all the odds with her cancer and even surprised the doctors while she out-lived their timeline. She knew that in the end if she was to die, it was God's plan for her. Her faith and strength in God were flawless and an inspiration to many. She was not only my sister but was truly my best friend! A day doesn't do by that I don't still miss her, think of her and just want to call her up and have a chat. Life is full of those heartache moments but we keep doing what we know is right here on earth, so we can see our loved ones one day. Thank goodness for a belief in life after death. Time really doesn't dull that little ache that rest deep in my heart, but time does give me an even better perspective on the wonderful example and the great legacy that she left behind. I know she would be shaking her head if she could look down as I sit in my rose garden and just stare at our yellow roses wiping away the tears. The yellow ones were her favorite as some of you know and those roses bloom first, bigger and better than any other. As the years go by I find myself laughing out loud as I scrub my floor a little harder, wash the windows until they shine a little brighter, pick every weed from the flower beds and on and on. You see those were things my sister would do and I would joke and tell her "I will never become that annul".. I am becoming my sister in a few ways and I'm so grateful for that. Happy Birthday Joey.... We will meet again....

OH HOW I LOVE MY ROSE GARDEN

Do you ever have a bad day? Do you every just want to stay in bed all day? Do you ever and this list could go on and on.... Well, this summer whenever I get that feeling, I peel myself to my little bare feet and go sit in our Rose Garden. I kid you not when I Say that this is like sitting in the Temple at times. I feel more peace, gain more strength, and become a better person after I've spent time out there on my rose garden bench. Come visit my bench and garden anytime. Before it rained the neighbors said it was as pretty as the Portland Rose Gardens. A little disclaimer here.....I really don't take a lot of credit for it's beauty. I'm not sure where it comes from but I think a certain Garden Angel helps it out!

Fun Times in Portland

Brooke and the girls came to visit and it just happened to be the same weekend as Rick's work picnic. We had such a great time showing off all 3 girls, Brooke, Hailey and Taylor. Great weekend....Thanks for visiting!!!

Camping in the life of the Garlock's

Sneak a peak of our Ward Camp out!! It was a lot of fun, well except we got rained on a little Friday Night. A few other added pictures of our Camping in Central Oregon. If Rick had his way we'd camp every weekend! He'd make a great Pioneer, unlike myself who needs a 24" Mattress. And yes we do take that size camping! Wish I had taken a picture of it!

Which Disney Princess are you?

I am Snow White!...... I had to take it a couple times but kept getting the same ole answer!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

More fun Times in Portland!!

We didn't sit around much but instead went to the Park, the Zoo, a mini water park not far from our house, fed the ducks at a pond close by and shared my special bench as I tried to convert some more ice cream lovers.... We need to carry on all the traditions, which means "ice cream"! To me it was a week of great memories to treasure UNTIL WE PLAY AGAIN!!!

The Memories of Seaside

I have always loved Seaside. As a little girl I ran and played at this same beach. As a Mom I watched my kids run and play at this same beach. As a grown up I've walked this beach and sat and watched the fireworks many times.....BUT nothing quite compares to spending the day with your grown kids and watching the grand kids run, swim and play.

Crazy kiddo's....They don't even care that the water is freezing!

Give each one a bucket and shovel and they could play for hours!
Thank goodness for towels!...They finally realized it was really cold!

Grandma doing what she loves to do.. Sitting on the beach chair, watching everyone swim and feeding Baby Hailey

We're kind of a herd where ever we go.....but not a bad looking bunch!!

There's something about the ocean that makes you starved... Good Ole Subway was a great place for lunch....along with an elephant ear and of course the ole fashion salt water taffy with 170 DIFFERENT CHOICES!!
